Do you ride if it is windy outside?

I hate riding mine in the wind, the wind whistles around my ears and makes them sore! (wuss, i know)

But it makes mine spooky and I just don't enjoy riding in the wind.

Is anybody the same as me, or do you just ride whatever the weather?

I tend not to ride out hacking in the wind, it does make my horses a lot spookier..that said, I've ridden in the school in a hailstorm, so not much bothers me if I'm in the school.

It depends how I'm feeling. If I'm full of energy I'll give it a go - and the hack is a battle as neddy doesn't like the wind.

Generally I think 'sack it - I can't be @rsed fighting' and faff with him instead!

Ride whatever the weather if I could but tend not to if its raining as we have a suede saddle and as we all know suede and water just don't get on

Don't mind the wind but Ellie lets me know if its blowing too hard for her

If shes in season def no. We ususally ride on the cliff tops and she copes with that quite well. What she dont like is when the crops are blowing in the wind and they look like waves - too scarey for her!!

I have no school so I ride in all weathers and occasionally get caught in the usual Scottish torrent of rain where I have left to go a hack in glorious sunshine and return like a drown't rat!!!

I ride if it's windy, but not if chucking down with rain. I don't mind getting wet while out but hate starting out wet.

Had one of my best rides ever in near hurricane conditions, trees falling down around us, rubbish flying everywhere, everyone else sensibly cowering in the barn. I'd had a bad day and wasn't going to let a little thing like a force 9 gale get in the way of my ride. Luckily, I had a fab horse at the time who thought it was all very exciting and not at all scary.

The wind makes my horse nice and forward going so love it. Usually we just plod along. The Arab I use to ride was terrible with the wind so it was a no go area there.

Depends on the horse in question! I dont set foot on one of my horses who is spooky as hell in the wind - I lunge instead. What makes it worse is I have a big hedge along one side of my schooling area which russtles like hell in the wind and things routinely fall out of (it was a sheep the other day - dont ask...). However, Ill happily ride one of my other ones who's just fun when spooky and my 4yo does get ridden but is kept away from the bushes :P

yup as our hacking is mainly quite sheltered. Even though Milo's only 5 he's been caught out in a thunderstorm so (as long as he has his exercise sheet on to keep his bum warm!) nothing phases him!

Depends how windy!

If there's likely to be branches coming down I tend not to. Just a bit blowy and we do.

Don't ride if it's lashing down with rain though (yep, it's true, I'm a fair weather rider!!

Yeap cause Bodey doesn’t care if it’s windy, I just don’t like the fact you can’t hear the cars as much. I’m no fair weather rider!
