I hate riding on A roads where the speed limit is 50. There are a couple of bridlepaths that come out onto a stretch of A roads, and I don't like them.
My horse is pretty good in traffic, but occasionally a plastic bag might pop out of the hedge and he might step sideways into the road..... scary thoughts!
I also hate riding along the narrow twisty lanes with the high hedges each side. Drivers go far too fast and there have been nearly a dozen accidents over the past few years in our village involving horses being hit from the rear. I wont ride on these at all! There is a yard that does dressage training lessons 1 mile from our yard, but I box there because it would involve me hacking for a mile along the scary twisty lane!
I'm not scared of riding my horse. I'm scared because I don't trust the idiots that drive the cars to be paying attention if they drive round the corner too fast and don't put their breaks on in time.
