Do you ride your horse straight after farrier visits?

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't ride after the farrier.I always do. The only time when I have known people not to ride straight away is if there has been glue/filler applied to the feet as the glue needs time to dry.

I do too , never really thought about it to be honest! He gets quite irritable if I get him in for an hour for the farrier, then put him out, then bring him back in, tack him up and ride . Better to do it in one hit!

Have been known to tack up as the farrier is finishing off.....

Ride two straight after and the old girl gets a day off - purley because she is arthritic and when she has been held in position she is a little sore.

In my youth though we had to ride to the forge - there was no choice (but that was when the old king was alive lol) and i used to spend all day saturday taking my 4 ponies up and down to the forge - tried to be clever one day and took 3 at once but they had a kicking match and i got told off by the police for not being in control of "dangerous animals"

Never usually did with my last horse as he was a TB with rubbish, poor sensitive feet and occasionally used to be a bit sore so usually waited untill the next day when he was feeling a bit more comfortable

Normally on any other horse I would!

no but only because they are shod late evening so by the time i have stood around holding 2 horses and and helping my farrier with another i really can't be arsed lol otherwise i would all being well with there feet.

I used to ride out with a lady who believed it was obligatory to ride after shoeing, to "bed them in".

I do, never really thought about it! But got a biggy with big, tough, super feet

Yep, tack up and go, why not?
Or, just put back into field if we don't want to go out. Why not again?

I've also been known to tack up while the farrier finishes off. The only time I wouldn't, would be if she'd lost a shoe and he'd come up to put it back on. She gets footy with a missing shoe even in the field so I'd leave her a day or two to recover.

Wiht two of them yes, they have good feet and rarely have any problems with shoeing.

With one, never. He has steep sided feet that the farrier struggles to shoe without putting a nail in the wrong place. He is left for at least a day or two (turned out) to let them settle and so he isn't footy.
