Do you stay in touch with your horses old owner?

Recently got in contact with the people who owned my pony 17years ago and they are lovely! Ive sent them some pics of her over Facebook and they're sending me some of her when she was younger back. Still got loose contact with her owners we brought her off since theyre a friend of a friend.

I stay in touch with the people I have sold horses to and bought horses from. I really enjoy it, getting updates or giving them. However some people don't feel appropriate to be facebook friends - so maybe just the text side is a little rude.

What does he do when you call?

I told the previous owners they could come and see him anytime and I sent emails and pictures every so often but they never replied. I guess it works both ways.

He said to add him on there and to text him, if he doesnt answer a text (and he has only been sent one text so its not like I`m being annoying) he is very unlikely to answer a phone call.
Suppose i better face facts I doubt i`ll ever hear about my boy again

The lady who bought Oso from me is still in touch, we're friends on Facebook and it's lovely, six years on, to see them go from strength to strength :)

Merlin's previous owner and I swap emails once a month or so and occasionally run into each other in Tesco.

Bought Pip from her breeder. She her 2 or 3 times a year. Email once or twice a year & send the odd photo. She loves the fact we keep in touch, as this was the first home bred they had sold. That is 9 years ago now!

We bought our mare from our YO who bred her, so yes obviously. With our other horses I have to say no. We loaned my daughters first pony and she formed a very strong bond with him and it broke her heart to hand him back, which was necessary as he was very old and she wanted to do more than he was capable of. We decided not to keep in touch with the owner, as my daughter did not feel she could cope, but the owner kept pestering us to come and see him, so much so that she became abusive to me personally and accused me of not caring about her old pony.

I would have liked to have been in touch with my horses previous owner but they ignored both my messages to them :(
Luckily ive found the previous owner before them on facebook :)

I do! I think its nice, the lady who bred my baby and still own her dad comes to see her regularly, she is a proud of her as I am and I wouldn't want her to miss out on her growing up. I see no harm in it, its nice to be nice! xxx
