do any of you still bring your horses in at night? during the summer (well if we can call it summer)

i bring mine in all year round .. i know 365 days of mucking out!!

No, thank goodness I need a braek from mucking out! If the weather is particularly rotten I'll chuck some extra layers on, but thankfully this time of year all we get is wet, not wet and freezing cold like the winter. For the most part leave them out to enjoy the grass (and therefore save me money too!)

yes,4,all in at night.
cob and shetland to keep then trim and the 2 boys are in to be fed and handled and will be turned out in winter.
i dont mind it at all.

This year they are still in at night, as there is so much grass I need to get them in off of it! I would normally leave out 24/7 during the summer unless we were off out and about and had an early start.

I'm still hoping the grass may die off and I can have a break for a few weeks but not holding my breath!

Thumper comes in for a few hours a day. Mainly to try and get some weight off him (he's a porker after a 5 week hol out 24/7) and to get him out of the flies on the hot day.

It's a bit of a juggle with him because he doesn't like being in on his own, but will tollerate it for a few hours. Ideally he'd be in all day otherwise.

My horse is out 24x7; he's the first horse I have owned who can stay out without getting colic/lami/fat on the rich grass- makes life so much easier!

Nope, they are all out 24/7 from Apr onwards - why would I want to make more work for myself mucking out?! We section our fields off with electric fencing to restrict theif grazing a little but to be honest the younger ones still competing get a fair bit of exercise and never suffer too much with getting horrendously fat.

Yep, mine comes in at night 365 days a year. We do not have the option at my yard to keep them out all summer which is a shame as I'd like to do this with my boy but otherwise the yard is perfect so don't mind and horse is happy so that's all that matters really!

Yep buddy will be in every night...unless decide to keep him out when on my hols. Not really the option for staying out at my stables they all come in together. Which is good as buddy is a bit of a hazard in the field sometimes.

We bring ours in during the day during the summer (!). Since about May they usually come in about 6am, if its hot they go out about 6pm, but if its not too hot I'll put them out anytime from 2.30 onwards.

Generally no but I did bring him in last night as he was soaked (couldn't get to him until about 7pm) and a bit cool. He was NOT happy about it and started bawling at me when he realised he was staying put!!!

Sulking this morning and not speaking to me.

My boys are normally out 24 x 7 - this year has not been hot enough to have them in during the day.

I do bring Cairo in every few weeks for a good long snooze - he does sleep in the field, but needs his stable from time to time or he gets miserable.

This year, he has been happier to stay out for longer periods without the comfort of his stable.

If weather turns really cold and wet, I do bring in or rug up as Cairo is now an official OAP.

I have to unfortunately due to yard policy, wish I didn't have to though as it would save me a fortune in hay and bedding and of course time! But the yard I am at is very nice and I get on really well there. Also my horse would prob be the size of a house if out 24/7 as he is a good dooer!

Mt two go out when the clocks change in the spring (weather permitting) and come back in at night when the clocks go back at the end of october (weather permitting!!!!) However we do bring them in every now and again during the day during the summer but generally they stay out. It is a big saving on bedding and hay although I do feed them if they need it and put hay in the field when the grass starts to go.
