Yes I do. It goes in the zip pocket of my musto when I am foot following or in my deep hunt coat pocket on rare occasions mounted. You never know when you might need it to call for help or get your transport back.
Having said that two friends have lost phones on the hunting field in the past few weeks...
In my Hunt Coat pocket I also take it hacking with me we did comment the other day when my phone went off out hunting to c where we were and we did say what did we ever do without them !!
In a Baily's Hunting Directory phone sock as it fits both my old and my new phones and keeps them secure whatever I am doing. It uses a lanyard so cannot get lost or squashed and is bright red so is easy to see if you do put it down
Yes, however I need to get a cheapo more hardy one; if I broke my current one or lost it I think I would cry... alot! I don't think its a good idea to not go without one, for safety reasons and for my parents to find me or pick me up!
Yes as OH usually loses a shoe or decides he wants to swap horses so I need mine on me. Always terrified of it coming out of my inside pocket, constantly faffing about to see whether it is still there!!
Yes. I have to put it in the pocket in my Jodhpurs as my jacket doesn't have an inside pocket. I put it in the outside pocket on my jacket one day and it ended up going through the lining and I ended up sitting on it!
PLEASE dont put your phone in your breeches pocket! My friend is now registered disabled, after a rotational fall with the phone in her pocket, and the impact on the phone caused her pelvis to break.
I slide my phone inside the top of my long boot, but if not possible, ask a footy to carry it , they are never too far away.
Always, on silent and in out side pocket as I don't have an inside one! Always checking it is still there and worrying about it, it's my lifeline haha.
It was good job I had it at the weekend, I had hacked to the meet and it was dark by the time we were on the way back so Dad had to bring us fluroescents and drive behind us on the way home!!
You wouldn't get it out though with a shirt and tie on, ImmoralOrchid!
I have a Nokia 6210. A bit bulky but tough as old boots! Goes in coat pocket - I think it's too big to slide out. I would love an iphone with the GPS app which can plot your position every few minutes, so that I could download where we'd been after a day's hunting! It would need some serious protection though. I think someone should design an iphone holder for the saddle, which would completely protect it, but so that it was still easy to get out when you needed it.
Always take my phone out hunting and just riding in general really, did forgot it once but luickly a loacal meet so mum was able to go home and give it to me half way during day! I normally leave it in my zipped breeches pocket and got to confess it isn't always on silent allthough it is on quiet can barely hear it! And normally is only used to see were they are if im on point or something, arrange were we are heading espicially if all end up finishing up somewere other than were we started to get lorry bought up, and also for wen I occansionally take the masters horse and swap second horses for him with him on mine so I know were he gone!! And alltho I have an iPhone I now use a cheap phone with my sime card in, less expensive if I drop and also lots easier to answer with gloves on!!!
