Ive decided im going to put my TB Mare on share or loan and wonder what people's thoughts maybe??

Ive had my 16hh, TB mare for 3 years and she is eight now. She is a fabulous horse to ride but I think we are just too similar. Im very sensisitive person, I get upset easily and My Girl is the most sensitive, Intelligent TB you have ever met. Now shes -gorgeous, talented, safe and kind but when she gets upset about something she needs someone cool, calm and collected not me freaking out on her. I also think I am holding her back because she is very talented.

She keps me awake worrying about her and us and if we are right. Shes been so upset since I have moved her yards and I just dont have the patience for her. I am thinking of getting myself something that perhaps isnt as talented but is a little easier. Like a nice connemara or something.

Good Points :-
- Learns things quickly because shes intelligent (i put this as a good thing but it could be a bad thing with a novice/nervous person)
- Trys so hard, she loves to work
- Lovely paces and suberb jump, very honest in her work
- lovely hack, forward going but doesnt pull, 100%in heavy traffic.
- has been placed in every unafflliated discipline you can think of, was placed at dressage champs of GB.
- tons of potential to go as far as you are brave enough to go.
- well mannered, light to handle, she doesnt drag you around or anything.

Bad Points:-

- Very sensitive, if your tense, she'll pick up on it and be tense too (although never naughty)
- A bag for the farrier, needs a patient, quiet farrier and a huge bowl of food.
- Has quite bad seedy toe, but is not lame (obviously this is not so much of an issue if person is just sharing).
- needs a routine, gets upset if she doesnt have a routine.

Do you think someone would be interested to share a horse like this?? She isnt your bog standard quiet riding club type but would make a suberb competition horse for the right person.

If the right person came along and fell in love with her I would consider selling her in the future. Also if i did sell her, what sort of price would she be? This is her.. Thanks

She sounds lovely but you will probably struggle to find a sharer, it may be easier to sell her. I've got a similar horse and been looking to find a sharer for months without any luck.

lol, the problem is I just am not sure we're suited. shes just such a neurotic handful sometimes on the ground!

Whereabout are you?

I think you may well find a sharer and unless you ask around or advertise you will never know. However if she is sensitive maybe having two people riding her may not suit?

She sounds like a nice horse - in what way does she get so upset?

She sounds lovely and I don't think there's a reason you'll struggle to get a sharer any more than anyone else. In fact, probably easier as she's a talented horse with an opportunity to compete.

I'd have loved a horse like that as a sharer. You can only try and see how you get on. Things is though, if you say you don't get on with her, why share? Why not put on full loan or sell and get something for yourself that you feel happier with?

If you do get a sharer, how about putting their contribution towards some confidence building lessons with a good instructor/trainer? Not that I'm saying you need them (obviously, I've no idea of your riding!), but it sounds like you're having a confidence crisis and need someone to tell you you're doing fab.

I have one just like her who I love to bits and would never part with. Horses like her, when they find someone to click with, find a home for life. Maybe try loan with view to buy? Or with that option? Once she's really bonded to someone she'll be better staying with them if my mare is anything to go by (a real one person horse).

Also, don't feel bad if she's just not for you - loads of people have ridden my girl and hated her, just not everyone's cup of tea!
