Im new to this forum so apologies if i have this in the wrong place!

My Section B is 4 now and has really filled out, he has good bone and is 12.2hh. I'm 5ft5 and weigh about 7.5 stone. Do you think i'd be ok to ride him? I wont be galloping around xc courses or anything like that, maybe wee hacks and some trotting in the school. He's going to be my daughters lead rein pony but he's just a bit too sharp and fresh at the moment hence my decision to possibly ride him.

My 12 hand sec A would carry you all day long!

Surely if its 12hh its not a Sec A

OP I wouldn't have thought there would be an issue with either your height or weight on a Sec B :D

Just checked heights for the Welsh pony and my apologies for getting it wrong as 12hh is the max height for a Sec A :o

Our 12.2 Sec B mare with spindly legs carried me well when I was 8 stone (am 5ft 2).

She had been doing quite a bit of work before I got on so I felt she was ready to take me.
I was working on the hacking out alone bit and I gradually built up the time in the saddle, though I never felt her struggle or tire. I did get a few comments for a while from people who had seen me setting off riding her then returning on foot!

I think they can be a bit sharp as a breed; goes along with their athleticism, but aren't they gorgeous?!

Thanks guys! Just wanted to find out what everybody thought before i decided to start riding him, as long as i'm not too heavy thats fine. Although im pretty sure i'll still get a few funny looks and whispers as i have long legs so i know i'll look too big. Yes Emma its me, did my name give it away ;). I miss that moody mare!!
