Do you think it would be acceptable?

To ask my bedding company to send a different delivery driver?
I know they use an external delivery company, so not exactly their fault, but the l ad is not only incompetent but badly mannered as well... He seems to find it appropriate to thunder down my drive at over 20 mph, never manages to back to the concrete apron in front of my barns and makes incredibly annoying comments about my financial status etc...
I'm just fed up with it, I'm a bit to old to be called 'chick' by a lad barely out of short trousers, don't want to know where he thinks I get my money from and so on. I would like him to just drop off the bl@@dy pallet of bedding, not expect me to push it off his lorry and b@gger off! Is that to much to ask?

I would certainly put a complaint in.

As it is an external delivery company then you'd have to put the complaint through the delivery company as it is out of the hands of the bedding company.

I was thinking more on the lines of asking the bedding company to just send it via a different courier tbh... I know that the lad is more likely thick than nasty and don't want him disciplined, just don't want him in my yard ever again...

Yes, I would complain and get a new one in. I wouldn't care about getting him in trouble it might teach him to learn a bit of basic courtesy

Thick/bad mannered, its all the same if you are unhappy with his service.
Complain to both bedding company and delivery company. Perhaps if he is raked over the coals, his work ethic might improve and others may get a far better service!

Or he will feel compelled to run over my dog next time?
Can you tell I really dislike him?
But feel a bit stupid for making a fuss over a delivery that happens every 7 weeks...
I'm really surprised it bothers me so much, but it did get me seriously down today:o:(

I would complain! You may find you are not the only one not happy with the service this driver is giving you. I do know what you mean though, would be awful to complain and then still get the same driver!

You're not being stupid. You are admitting someone onto your land, who is rude and asks you personal questions about your finances. You are a customer you are not obliged to put up with this. The company probably do not know he behaves like this because other people don't complain and if they do, then they don't have much regard for the customers who give them their livlihood! Complain woman and be damned!! Personally, had the cheeky little git dared make a remark to me about the financial status I work so hard for I would have hoiked his testicles above his head!

If you complain and still get the same driver, then they lose your business. Bad manners are NEVER acceptable under any circumstances. I am sure the bedding company will address your concerns ..

And if you get the same driver, change companies! There is a recession on, we don;t have to put up with this.

i have worked in customer service and i'd reccomend you put in a complaint to the delivery company itself, though mention it to your bedding company

The problem is, I'm not quite sure who the delivery company are, I know it sounds strange, but the lorry is unmarked and the paperwork comes directly from the bedding company, so my only route I suppose is to complain to them...

Well, I've done it, I have e-mailed the bedding company with a complaint and a request to change the delivery driver.
I don't want to confront the driver directly and I hope I won't have to.

And now I'm sitting here worried sick that it will develop in some sort of huuuge row:(
I'm being paranoid, somebody kick me up my backside!
I got a quick e-mail back saying they are sorry, they are looking into this and will get back to me shortly... And stupid me is scared

Good for you! Why on earth should you care if there IS a row?! You have been treated badly, you should be spitting bullets!

Why should there be a row?
The only thing that should happen is a grovelling apology from bedding company, who in these times cannot afford to lose your custom!
You are totally within your rights to complain. Its not malicious, its a genuine grievance you have with his driving speed on your private property, and his appauling work ethics.
No little scr**t would be calling me "chick" I tell you!!!

Thanks guys, I just had a very apologetic phone call from the bedding company, they said they have forwarded my e-mail to the delivery company and they will investigate it for me...
The thing is I can't describe exactly what he has done wrong, it's just the attitude... And I'm irrationally scared of a backlash:(

Good for you:) - was just reading and about to reply saying complain and stick to your guns!!:):):)

Never forget you are the customer and the customer is always right!!:D If that company doesn't think you are find another one that does! The bedding company I use changed delivery companies - the new ones got my number wrong so didn't deliver on the day - rang bedding company who got it sorted - delivery people phoned me most apologetic and sent bedding out on van with guy in the office in his lunchtime - turns out he lives in my village!:) Point of the story is make the phone call - you are paying for a service and its not your problem if someone is inconvenienced.:)

You were perfectly eloquent in your OP. Stick to that and don't sound hesistant if some one rings you, sound outraged!

You're not bonkers. If more people complained and stood up for themselves I think the world would be a better place. There's quite a few things in modern life that make me want to go and light a few fires!

I know I have done the right thing (well I think anyway), but I feel an absolute pratt for kicking up a fuss over something that others might consider 'nothing'.
I just can't believe such a minor incident could have upset me so much...

How about making him a nice cup of tea and some choccie cake??(loaded with Ex-Lax of course!!!!) By the time he's done another couple of drops, he'll more than likely be starting to drop something else!!!:p:D

Have a hug and a hot choccy hun :)

I know just how you feel! I do deals for hundreds of millions of £ across the world, but something like this would make me feel just as you do :o :(

Hang on in there. The lad has to learn that there are rights ways and wrong ways of doing things :).

Thanks MrsM, I would do with a hot choccy indeed.
Let's just hope he never comes here again...
I'm still dreading the confrontation, silly me:( I don't want unpleasant phone calls etc.
I feel **** as it is, buuuuuuuu

Well done for making the complaint. I loathe having people here, other than friends obviously, and know a fair few other women who feel the same. It is as if the sight of a woman on her own makes some men feel as if they have the right to make personal comments! I'm ok with people I know, so was fine while we had work done on the house by the builders who live nearby, but hated it with a passion when the electritians (SP) were here, I didn't know them and they felt it ok to comment on all sorts of things that had nothing to do with the work they were doing.
