having one of those proud mummy moments!

This is Pip - 3yo PBW i've had her since a yearling and done all the work myself bar the last couple of weeks - she was compleetly wild when i got her.

I plan to show her county as shes done well local the last two years - placed everytime out as a 2y/o including some wins and qualified Royal London in two classes and won everytime out this year as a 3yo including Part Bred, Show Hunter Pony (which i was compleetly shocked with :L) Best Conditioned, Youngstock and Hunter Type and went reserve for both the hunter classes and Qualifying Royal London again

BUT the only experience i have at county is with M&M's which are a whole different kettle of fish! :s im stumped as to wether she could make the step up to county next year and what i could enter her in? i was thinking small hunter and working hunter as she'll be four and under saddle but i think her last growth spurt pushed her out of WHP classes and i fear she'll be compleetly out of place in the horse classes :s

What is the worst that can happen? you'll go to a show, have a nice day out and come home without a rosette is the worst that can happen. I dont think you'll disgrace yourself.

Most importantly though you will get the chance to compare Pip against her peers and really only by doing that will you get your answer as to a plan of action longer term

Its a shame if she has been pushed out of WHP classes now

Next summer is a long way away and Pip's shape and schooling levels will change a few times before you get there so you can adjust your expectations as things progress
 
There's no harm in going and finding out! It's not going to hurt her by going to a county show, it'll probably do her good and at the end of the day its more experience for her. I'd say go for it :)
 
Doubtful at the bigger shows.
She has not got the big movement needed for top show horses, she has a bit to much knee action.

Another reason is that you are tall on her and make her look small.

I will also add, and this is not being anything other than constructive criticism, that you are rushing her trot, it needs to be forward, yes, but not racing. You also need to lower your pedals so that you are sitting in the centre of the saddle rather than on the back of it, especially when you are trot rising.

She is a very nice looking mare and could possibly do well in coloured classes rather than hunters.

As others say, go and try but you will be up against the professionals and they are very difficult to beat because they know the tricks of the trade.

I will add that when showing in hand you both looked immaculately turned out.

OP you can definitely see the welsh, maybe a little too much atm for county :confused: thought I wouldn't really know!
 
If your local shows qualify you for Royal London or any other bigger shows, take her there - it usually gives you a better idea.. I had a mare that always was first or reserve WH at local level, but when we went to the champs she was 7th - not big enough next to proper WH types...
 
If she has edged over 15hh and you are under 25 she could do intermediates? BUT workers at County level might be a bit much to ask of a 4 year old and tbh she maybe lacks a bit of quality for flat intermediate classes. Certainly no harm in taking her and giving it a go though.

She may not be eligible for coloured classes. I have one the same colour; 4 white legs and mine has a larger white tummy splash than your mare, but my horse isn't eligible to enter coloured showing classes. (I sent his photos to Chaps to find out, as everyone I asked had a different opinion). A coloured horse needs to have white markings higher than the elbow.

I think she's smashing, and you'll have loads of fun showing her off.

The two of you look very smartly turned out.
 
What a lovely horse, and beautifully presented in your in-hand photo's.

My opinion is that she is too immature to be considering county level in her 4yo year. I would stick to upper level local / agricultural shows as a 4yo and then reconsider for her 5yo year.

My gut is that she isn't really going to fit exactly into a class. The large amount of white and the slight welsh action could well go against you in hunter classes (small / intermediates). That said she does have sufficient quality to have a go and if she rides well in the ring I would say there is no reason not to have a crack at county, enjoy yourself but don't expect to get to HOY's.

I do really like her. I would echo another poster who highlighted not to let her rush so much in trot, slow it all down a bit, allow her to find her balance and then as she matures and progresses her movement will hopefully refine slightly.
 
Its hard to tell but she she looks too heavy for pb classes thay all tend to be more showy types how big is she how much bone if she has eight inch and is around 15 hh maybe show cob classes would be good when she is mature x
