Hi all,
This is violet, she's 5 years old and was bought from a man who had a group of horses loose in a field - Owner has had her for 2 months now and says she's started putting weight on around her stomach so she suspects possibly pregnancy. Violet is pretty underweight due to being left in a field and having no feed other than the grass in the field - I suggested she may be getting 'round' due to the food she's getting now but I wasn't sure if she'd put weight on her tummy first or somewhere else?? (Yes, I know very little)
Ideally we hope she isn't pregnant as neither of us have any experience when it comes to foals and there's not any facilities which would be suitable for a foal!
She's not massive around her stomach but it does hang a bit, again not sure if that's because she's now fed daily!
So, here are a photo and unfortunately it's not great as she kept following me and couldn't get a side shot!

I thought it would be difficult from a head on shot, thanks for replying Amymay :)
Do you think she'd put weight on her stomach first before anywhere else due to her being fed more?
 
I have limited knowledge, but I was also thinking worms. YM bought a pony who we thought may have been preggers, but it turns out it was just a horrific amount of worms! She's almost looking like a normal pony :) Good luck!
 
I'm hoping she's not as she's really underweight which could put a massive strain on her if she is! If it is worms, how long would it take for her to become healthy and back to a normal size after she's wormed - if she's not already??
 
If she's been out with a stallion or colt why don't you get the vet out to check her for your peace of mind. He can advise on worming if her history may be poor too. Good luck.
 
An update:
She has been wormed, 2 months ago - not sure how long it takes to take effect :o
Here's a side photo's - So, maybe it's easier to tell.. I don't think she is tbh..
