Flower had quite a slow winter growth-wise, and for a long time, she seemed to stick at around the same height. I - rather naively - thought that maybe she'd got most of her growing out of the way early on, and that while the little 14.2hh that I'd asked Mary for might not have materialised, we'd nonetheless get something not too far over the 15hh mark.

Unfortunately, Flower had other plans, and since the first hint of spring this year, she has been determinedly growing upwards. She now makes her poor mum look really rather small in comparison, which I've made clear to her is unfair - both to Mary and to myself, who prefers not having as far to fall. I'm now looking for tried-and-tested ways to shrink a horse, so if anyone knows of any, please send them my way! ;)

Here is the teenage delinquent at not-quite three, with my lovely Mary looking really rather unhappy about being dwarfed!

Meep! Look at that bum! Gorgeous! Have you had a stick on her? My cob went from 14.2 to 15.1 between 5 and 7, they’re very slow growing. You gotta frame that fabulous first picture!

JJS Flower is absolutely stunning and Mary is just such a sweetheart, so lovely. Really lovely pic of you with your beautiful girlies.

I have returned after a bit of a break and found that i can no longer use my previous username/login since the forum was upgraded (not sure where the time has gone - it was me who dropped off the training books for you on my way home from work that time, I hope the books are proving to be helpful). Just showed hubby the picture of how Flower was doing and he smiled and said "Flower really shouldnt be allowed to smoke" ?. Took me a few seconds to spot it on the photo. Hope you are all doing really well. I always looked out for your gang driving to and from work (never spotted them as bit far away) but left work now so dont get that pleasure. xx

Seeing as she's far too tall for you, the only solution is to send her to me.

I'm not sure that she'd fit in the post!

She's growing like a weed, wouldn't surprise me if she makes 15.2..!!!"
They are both gorgeous ❤❤❤❤

Thank you! She string tests to around the 16hh mark, so unfortunately it wouldn't surprise me either  And while that doesn't sound too monstrous as a rule, it's rather horrifying when they're half Welsh - and all Welsh in terms of their personality!

Thank you! No, she hasn't had a stick on her in a long time, and I don't know that I dare! Mary also grew around three inches between four and seven, so definitely some slow-growing genes in the mix.

The books have been invaluable! I frequently refer back to them even now. Thank you again for being so wonderfully kind and gifting them to us!

Just wait til she stops going up and starts going out the way ?

She hasn't stopped growing outwards since the day she was born!

I'm another one with a giant baby pony. My 23 month old highland pony is very nearly the same size as Bobbie who is a genuine full up 14.1hh. This is him about 3 weeks ago. I thnk he's grown again since then! Hes going to be a really old fashioned chunky highland and I'm not sure I fancy seeing what one of those looks like at 15hands!

Leo, your highland is looking really lovely! He's really coming on, just look at the difference from when you got him (sometimes its hard to see the changes when you see them so often yourself. Bobbie is lovely and I enjoy reading your updates (and videos) about them both.

Aww, thank you! I am a total highland convert now. He is the sweetest easiest pony I've ever met. Bobbie is very bored and causing all sorts of mischief but is really happy and settled. They are a good combination!

Is it almost 3 years ago? Time does indeed fly. She was a lovely foal and I’m pleased she’s still just as lovely. Another couple of inches won’t make any difference to falling off, it will just make her more versatile.
