The lady I brought my horse off, only brought my mare in the first place because she used to full loan her mum. So tbh she doesn't care too much about my horse I dont mean that in a bad way at all, she just has alot of horses and didn't particualy click with my mare which was obviously a dissappointment for her after loving her mum.

I brought my mare nearly 5 years ago, is it ok to text her and ask her if she could email me some pics of her mum and maybe her in the younger days? Or is it a bit cheeky?

I've contacted her only once in the 5 years I've owned her and that was about 2 years ago - just to say hi and that Jazz was ok and had a home for life etc

not really sure what to do? I dont have an email address for her, and she has got married since so I dont have a name that I could search for on facebook or whatever, the only thing I have is a number so I thought texting is the best option as she could always ignore it. What do you think?

Why not? The worst she can do is ignore it or say no. Nothing ventured nothing gained I say!!!

I think it is more polite and friendly to call her. Not everyone texts - I know plenty of "older" people who have not got a clue about texting.

We met the breeder of our Appaloosa mare at a show. She was the first foal from their mare and stallion and had had 2 other homes before us. They were delighted to hear that she is well and will stay with us for life. They asked for our address and sent us some photos of her a s a foal and photos of her sire and dam.
Go for it, but be prepared for disappointment if she has changed her number.

Right... done it! I tried to make the text sound as polite as possible

Tracey01 - I decided to text in the end because she's only in her late 20's early 30's and the only other time I have contacted her was via text

Wish me luck!
