I was going to say isn't one of yours out of Makanaky but then I looked again at the picture in your signature.... Doh! Wake up, silly me!

I don't think she's overpriced. She's gorgeous!

Our YO has a beautiful filly advertised on HorseQuest, been on a couple of weeks, same price as yours and has had no interest whatsoever. I think yours is a fair price. Good luck with selling her. Somebody somewhere must be buying but when you look at the ads on the internet, not much seems to be selling.

ahh Busted!

Yes, she's mine - been for sale for about 10 days & I have had NO interest. Wondering if I am advertising in the wrong place? I had hoped to sell her by word of mouth but that has sadly fallen through.

I guess the market is pretty slow at the moment.

She's fine. She actually isn't for sale yet - I can't bring myself to write the ad - thought if I posted she was for sale as above then it would spur me on to do it. but it hasn't. and i won't. so she isn't for sale at all!

am really sorry to say but had you been selling her last year you might have been able to sell her at that price, but i think she is over priced(no reflection of her quality) just is present economic climate!! If you were in no hurry to sell then maybe she would go eventually! Have recently tried to sell a serious competition 2yrold myself well bred pink papered and branded, and until i really dropped the price i didint get one call, i dont think people are investing in youngstock at mo but of course is IMHO

I have a yearling filly for sale ( by Handel out of an Its the business mare) and that was the sort of price I was thinking of for her. The question is do you lower your price and hope for a quicker sale or sit it out at that price with the risk you might not sell. I advertised on horsequest last year and had a few phonecalls but as it was in the winter people presume you are desperate to sell and make stupid offers! Your filly looks like a lovely model by the way.

i think your price is fine. I find HM is not the best for advertising, you either get alot of time wasters or nothing! I would use H&H or horse quest. I do think the market has slowed down but your ad says ono, anyone who is serious will contact you.

I agree, she's a lovely filly but unfortunately in this economic climate, I think she's overpriced. Realistically, you have to add 3 years of 'keep' on to the price and see if similar 4yr olds are going for that price ie. keep plus what you are advertising her for. It's alot less risky buying a 3 or 4 yr old, than a yearling, who may injure itself in the 2/3 yrs you are waiting to do anything with it.
Also, I think people will think that they can get something similar at the sales for a lot less. For instance, at Malvern in Sept at their big sportshorse sale, you can pick up fillies of this quality for £2K, and even less

I agree with this. She is lovely, but I think in the current economic climate, less people are spending big money on yearlings. Just a quick look on Horsemart throws up loads of horses with similar stats to your girl, same kind of price but aged 3 or 4 instead. My impression then is that she is a bit overpriced, considering that other similar horses on the market seem to be cheaper, or only a little more but ready to break and go on.

I think she is overpriced according to what you say in the ad! I would also be tempted to say lightly shown and only list the successes lol!! So it looks like she was liked by everyone who saw her.

What did her mother do? Just says German SJ mare! It could have been a bad German SJ mare!!! So think you should say more about her mum and dad if you want a good price. I think I would also remove the pic of her in the paddock and just keep the one in the school as that shows she is a bit special. The one in the paddock makes her look like any other yearling and doesnt do her justice at all.

So I think your ad doesnt really sell her to me for that amount of money. I think you need to improve the ad before you drop the price.

of course, , you could just drop her price to £500 and i will buy her!!! LOL!!

lol - thanks for all the opinions! I am still none the wiser though as half say yay and half nay!

I guess it comes down to how much I want to sell her. I know how much she is worth & have got the stretch to keep her for a year or so, so I am reluctant to drop her price too much. Think I will try a few other avenues too -

Dozziesmummie - maybe I have undersold her - she has always been in the ribbons showing (bar once & that was a class of about 30). Also her mother is a pinkpapered mare who has jumped to a very high level so should perhaps expand on that. I personally hate ads that 'sell up' going on and on about 'potential' but perhaps others like this and so this is the way to go.

Thanks all for your advice.

PS: and if you know anyone that might want a nice yearling......

I think it is the way to go - like DM I thought your ad was a bit vague and didn't really sell her to me. It wasn't really clear to me what she is bred to do, or excel at, and I think you could have talked more about her bloodlines.
