Do you travel horses when the roads are icy?

As the title really. I dont usually but then I have never really needed to go anywhere important when its icy. I have to take chance to the vets tomorrow, 90% is on dual carriagways, forecast frost and fog. Just trying to decide whether I should go or not?

If you are on main roads I wouldn't worry. We go out even if frosty and have a short strech on a minor road. We just crawl along.

It is not forecast to be wet tonight so should be very little ice so unless you know a road is bad I would go - slowly and carefully!

I went hunting today, going along our back lane was a bit hairy but the main roads were fine. Allow plenty of time and drive very slowly approaching junctions! You'll be fine.

This is my first year of having transport

I've thought about this because I travel my mare to my trainer's for a lession each week. I've decided that as long as they are predicting ice, snow whatever, the roads will be gritted. Certainly, the main roads should be fine.
