Do you trot your shod horse...

Yes plenty of trot work, especially for fittening work. We never go above a hound jog mind and will trot on verges when we can. I can't look when I see others doing a smart trot down the road, although plenty do and have perfectly sound horses :) it's just our personal preference mind as cant afford to have horses 'off the road' (excuse the pun) due to splints or concussion injuries. :)
 
I'd never trot on the road, and cant believe some people canter on it - having had a pony bolt with me when I was a kid and sliding over and skidding down the road, its surprising how slippy tarmac is. Trotting with shoes on IMO is very concussive. I'd trot on grass verges but not on the road itself.

While out hunting I'd prefer to do a slow canter down the road than a smart trot!
