do you use a half pad?
if so, is it ok just to use a half pad or do you put something under it?
I have a fairly thin wool half pad and underneath i put a prolite saddle stay pad which again is pretty thin...is it ok to use it like this? i dont put any numnahs under it or anything (it wont cause pressure points or anything being just under the seat of the saddle and not the saddle flaps will it? i dunno hahah)
whats your pov on halfpads?

Used to but now I have my new saddle i don't as wanted to get it fitted with one but it affected the fit so was fitted without it.

Wouldn't use one with correctly fitted saddle as it would be like putting insoles in correctly fitting shoes.

I always see showjumpers wearing wool half pads between their saddle and numnah and always wondered why they all do that! Literally all of them have it! I thought half pads were for helping raise the saddle up off the withers or for slightly ill fitting saddles...?

people put numnahs underneath wool half numnahs to keep them clean! i dont do it personally i think there is too much bulk under the saddle then but other people do it with no problem totally up to you :)

I have been using a wool half pad over a thin saddle pad but something i read yesterday has made me think again - 'you shouldn't wear or need to wear a half pad for too long as the saddle should fit well'. Words to that effect but did make me think why do we actually use them if saddles are fitting properly? Maybe i'm missing something!:o

I use a half pad and saddle pad but my horse has kissing spine surgery so am protecting that area. Saddle fits perfectly well, just want to have reassurance.
