Just a quick thought..
No tail guard will stay up if you have recently sprayed coat shine/mane and tail spray onto tail as it becomes so slippery.
This happened to me recently and was very frustrating because I always use them, all my three sit on their tails in the lorry.

In answer to original question, no, never. More I put on them, more they have to get off/tangled up in etc

With precision driving and lots of breathing in

I have managed to tow a 510 round here! My 505 is noticibly narrower though - makes for less stressfull driving!!

Hmm just wondering how many people that said yes own ifor's?

I never bother unless i've managed to produce an amazing plaited tail. I find that with the ifors, they cannot rub.

However with our old pegasus trailer in the 80's we needed a banadage and a tail guard, both fairly useless!!!

without fail bandage to the bottom of tail - well, about 2 inches from the bottom and then put a guard over the bandage at the top - GT's and Tiaribon i can see why you say the british trailers are a bit shitty compared to that monster! but this is for travel in an HGV lorry - full set of boots aswell!!!!

SN - We have bike lanes bigger then that!! Do becareful if you go to California, you would probably get lost, and have the police after you!

Jem1, the only time I can see bandages being useful is for loading, and only are really needed if they are pratting about.

No I could never go back to those silly tiny little British trailers again. If I were ever to return to the UK (never!!) I would have to import an American trailer, LOL!

Good GOD Tia! If you saw how titchy Argie trailers are you'd think UK trailers are MASSIVE!! None of them have even got brakes!!!
Right now I covet an Ifor Williams more than (almost) anything!!

Well that's 'cos your country is FAR more 3rd world than mine LMAO!!

I just like how the horses have their saddles on.

Loads of horses are travelled tacked up - hunters for one thing!

I know, that too is more of an english thing. But just in the back of a lorry like that, looks kind of funny!

lol it does - but I must say that I did see horses being transported like that in KY!! Though as they had stock/western saddles on, I doubt they were racehorses

Clarita will load into the back of a pick up - I think a lot of polo boys get bored and start messing around.
