Do you use any leg protection when travelling a youngster?

If travelling on their own i dont use anything until 3 years old. Then i use brushing boots and over-reach boots. Then bandages over fibregee
 
horses without shoes tend to have nothing with me- unless they are used to brushing boots and then i may whack a pair of them on the front legs.

then we progress to bandages and gamgee with over reach boots and knee boots etc.
 
When I bought Chancer he came home with nothing on. He now wears some stable wraps - more to keep the hair clean as he travels well and has a lot of hair and no shoes. Ditto the same for our clydes.

When Farra came down from Scotland she travelled with nothing on.

I have been told best to avoid anything on young horses.

My WB mare hated anything other than a pair of brushing boots and knee boots (she was a liability) when travelling.

I personally have found my horses prefer to have nothing or minimal boots/wraps when travelling. Put the huge protector boots on and they are not comfortable, get too hot and are generally unhappy with having them on and travelling.

However, I do appreciate some horses do need a lot of protection.
 
Ditto about - foals travel with nothing, as do yearlings not used to wearing boots.

Any older boots/bandages, and never travel without when shod.
