Lance is becoming very arthritic, this hard ground is making it worse, so I need to put him on a joint supplement, he is almost 19.

I was going to try Cortaflex, does anyone know how much it will cost me a month to give him this? (he is a 16.2hh Latvian Warmblood, weighs about 600kg)

Or where I can get it for a good price?

I would also be interested in any alternatives people can recommend?

My friend recommended VetVits Equiflex as she said it has the same levels of glucosamine in as cortaflex? She was presecriped Senequin for her mare but is switching to this vetvits.

Im worried sick about him as he is becoming more and more lame and stiff, had physio out 3 times, got mc timony lady looking at him this weekend.

He has had a hard working life so its inevitable it will take its toll, but i want to do all I can, so a good supplement is the right start I think.

Im sending u a PM

And me!

Just to say I'd used Cortaflex for years and last time as I was a bit skint bought the Equine America Glucosamine one (alot cheaper at £13 a tub) and tbh have not noticed any difference

hi,

sorry if i am repeating what someone has already said...i use riaflex for my old boy and it has worked 100%.

take a look at their website.

my boy is 39 years old and now thanks to riaflex has no stiffness at all!

I have started trying the equine america Glucosamine and as yet have not noticed any difference from when I was using cortaflex.

I have with Cairo noticed a great deal of improvement with his stiffness, especially his hocks, since I started feeding instant linseed which I get from simple systems.

Cairo's magnetic straps help with pain relief and stiffness on his ringbone.

I use Extraflex HA by Feedmark. Fantastic in my horse with spavin, much better than some of the other better known brands I have tried.

I use Cortavet for my arthritic mare. It is made by Equine America the same as Cortaflex but is a lot stronger than Cortaflex and feeding the low maintenance dose (half a scoop) gives about 2.5 x the active ingredients that are in Cortaflex. At this rate a tub (approx £36) lasts me four months. If you are interested PM me and I will let you know where you can get it on-line although a Google search will probably find it for you.
