Do you use padding with a fleecy roller?

I had a fleecy lined roller than I used with a Pessoa. I also have a poly pad type premier equine pad that is useless under a saddle so I used it under roller. I have not used Pessoa for years and don’t think I will again but thought it might be something different to do and long rein Robin. I’ll use the roller but is the pad necessary? A couple of people have same roller and don’t use anything so not sure which is best?

I use a saddlecloth under a fleecy roller as it is easier to clean and does less damage to my washing machine

I don't use anything underneath padded roller, doesn't ever seem to cause problems

I use one of these. Not sure if it’s strictly necessary or not, but they are cheap enough. The loops mean that it never slips, even if the horse has a moment.
