Do you use travel boots or something else?

I have a new boy who has never worn travel boots and when i put them on him he kicks like fury.(Does stop after a while) He also has long back legs so i would have to buy him a set of X full size.
I was wondering whether to just travel him in woof boots and put some hind overreach on him. My lorry has rubber floors and also rubberised stock board on the walls so quite well padded.
What do you all do?

Fleece bandages over thick cotton pads which cover hocks and knees, mine takes shoes off if he just has boots on and kicks out as you describe, on a previous horse I added overreach boots too.

My last horse just used travel boots and was fine. Altho he walked like a numpty for a few strides til he got used to them. My pony I had could only be travelled in gamgee and bandages as she hated boots.
Some horses like the boots and others dont. The yard I'm at use a mix of boots and bandages depending on the horses.

I travel my mare in fetlock boots and rubber overreach boots behind, with just overreach boots in front. She doesn't like travel boots either. She's always travelled fine like this.

If going to polocrosse I don't bother with travel boots, as they are already wearing sports medicine boots all round with 4 overreach boots. So only exposed bits are knees and fetlocks

If not playing all mine wear decent tendon boots (with good strike pads) and then I use a thin travel boot (shires economy or the old polypad style). These seem not to annoy the horses, and the front tendons are well protected with the under boots.

I couldn't use travel boots on my old lad as he used to just destroy them before we even got near the trailer...little monkey, so I used to use gamgee and bandages with over reach boots...no probs
