It is grim here tonight. Windy, rainy and icy cold. But Beastie is on a weight loss program and always gets walked everyday. So I bundled up, found her little cosy waterproof coat and off we went much to her horror. She power walked her little legs off

But got a nice warm dinner as I added hot water to her food which she normally has dried. And I had a hot toddy

So, yes, Beastie gets walked everyday unless it is absolutely horrendous. Although not as far during these days. The snow is her favourite though

usually yes but as mine live out and i have to walk up the top of the horses field tonight when i saw it was pissing down i must admit to giving them a miss tonight.
mind i did give them a walk at 8am,2pm and 4pm(they normally get a 10pm too ) so think they will be ok

Yep, gets at least two hours walks a day whatever the weather. Obviously in summer he gets a lot longer, but he's a border collie, can handle the weather and it'd be cruel to not get him out that much!

Yes, but it is difficult in winter. Being that Bostons are a single-coated breed, they start to shiver when it gets below 40 degrees (and it gets a damn sight colder than that in NYC; -5 or -10 celsius is perfectly average).

We have various coats, and boots are a must when the snow ices over.

Yes mine go out in all weathers too. They are funny though - if its raining or cold and you ask them to go out in the back garden for a pee first thing in the morning they look at me like "are you crazy I'm not going out in that!" but when we go out on an actual walk they don't seem to notice or care about the weather. The muddier and wetter they can get the better!

I always walked my dog, whatever the weather - even if its just a brisk 20 minutes round the block.

I agree my dog did that too ^^ Like FFS I aint going out in the rain! Sometimes I had to push him out the door on my toe! lol

mine go out what ever the weather, i always think to myself would i like to kept indoors nearly all day with just a quick visit out in the yard a couple of times a day.
every time anyone in our house puts a coat on they think they think its time for a walk in any case.

No point trying to walk Bumble Dog in bad weather - you literally have to drag her (with all four paws dug into the ground), or if she is off the lead she just turns around and goes home!

Mine get walked whatever the weather. If it is absolutely pouring then I try to wait til it eases up a bit. If it is really miserable then they might get a shorter walk than normal for my sake - they would quite happily keep going in any weather.

I take mine out in pretty much anything. They all have little "rugs" to keep them warm and dry, pathetic really because they have a double coat and the top layer is wirey!! But they still get cold.

Thats the same as Tots - rubbish for a Springer! You can pick her up and go take her outside with you if it is raining and she just runs back to the door and stands there

She hates the wet weather and will not wee on wet grass, she goes on the shingle drive and then she doesn't squat very much

She is a little princess!

oh yes, boris loves going for walkies in any sort of weather. he got 2 ickle coats for when it's really wet ( a rain coat) or absloute flipping freezing, a fleece coat... BUT yesterday he dived into the sea... it was freezing cold and he was happily swimming and chasing after sticks and wasn't cold afterwards! Don't think i'll bother with coats now as he got no sense of feeling the cold!!!

Yes pretty much. If I know it's supposed to rain heavy at a certain time then I'll try and avoid that, but he is taken out twice a day. If it's raining he has his little coat on otherwise he'll get wet and smelly!

I don't walk my dogs - this is the beauty of keeping them with 24 hour access to outside. I can stay inside in the warmth while they wee alone.

No.
But then I don't purposely go out to exercise them.
If I am outside, so are they, if I walk anywhere they are with me, they come when I ride and they run at my side when I use the quad, so plenty of exercise in all weathers.

No matter how much I explain to mine that they won't enjoy it, they still insist on going out in all weathers. It's on days like that I wish I only had cats

We'd never get away with missing a walk with our lot. The old Dobie probably wouldn't give a toss as she's happy to laze around and do sod all anyway. However, the 2 springers and the terrier would drive us beserk if we didn't give them at least and hour off lead exercise a day - no matter what the weather. They live out and don't really care anyway!

i dont have any choice have two springer spainels and you coundlt possibly stay in the warm and not take them out in the cold wouldnt let u live. lol but yes they do get walked in all weathers but they dont care if its cold, raining snowing windy that just me x

my 2 weimeraners wont go out in the rain even with their coats on!!! thats why we are all curled up on the sofa in a sleeping bag atm!!!they will come with me when i go 2 get the horses in tho
