Well here they are. They are still a bit woolly and not stylish and smart like my guys....however you have to bear in mind that until a few days ago these little ones had not been handled and were running free on a 30,000 acre ranch. They have also travelled 1,500 miles over the past couple of days so they do have the odd nick on them.
I firstly have to compliment the sale organisers though - what an absolutely lovely sale it was. All foals were treated very gently and with kindness - it was such a pleasure to be there and see a well run sale. When we went to load our 5 purchases up, they brought them all into a pen and then when our trailer was in position they just walked behind the last foal and they all wandered along the walkways, into the pen and, without batting an eyelid, all of them walked straight into the trailer. Fantastic!! They were all little stars!
Okay, so the first one is the Appaloosa colt which my little daughter bought. She has already decided that she doesn't want to sell him now - am I surprised? Nope! He's actually a very nicely put together foal - beautiful floaty movement and has the most friendly nature. She has been working with him today and has taught him to pick all 4 feet up and loves being groomed.
The rest are mine. I've managed to groom all of them since taking these pictures. They are very friendly and thankfully I found their "itchy spots" very quickly.
The yellow flowers that grow at the edge of the field are Golden Rod; they are weeds over here, but you would be more familiar with them growing in someone's garden over in England.
