Well here they are. They are still a bit woolly and not stylish and smart like my guys....however you have to bear in mind that until a few days ago these little ones had not been handled and were running free on a 30,000 acre ranch. They have also travelled 1,500 miles over the past couple of days so they do have the odd nick on them.

I firstly have to compliment the sale organisers though - what an absolutely lovely sale it was. All foals were treated very gently and with kindness - it was such a pleasure to be there and see a well run sale. When we went to load our 5 purchases up, they brought them all into a pen and then when our trailer was in position they just walked behind the last foal and they all wandered along the walkways, into the pen and, without batting an eyelid, all of them walked straight into the trailer. Fantastic!! They were all little stars!

Okay, so the first one is the Appaloosa colt which my little daughter bought. She has already decided that she doesn't want to sell him now - am I surprised? Nope! He's actually a very nicely put together foal - beautiful floaty movement and has the most friendly nature. She has been working with him today and has taught him to pick all 4 feet up and loves being groomed.

The rest are mine. I've managed to groom all of them since taking these pictures. They are very friendly and thankfully I found their "itchy spots" very quickly.

The yellow flowers that grow at the edge of the field are Golden Rod; they are weeds over here, but you would be more familiar with them growing in someone's garden over in England.

You have had people waiting all day for these photos I'll bet!

I am drooling over the palominos Tia. Not that the others aren't all just as nice, especially Megans flashy little spotted one, I am just a palomino nut right now. (Talking of palominos, Zeus and I have had words, he has decided that he'd quite like to keep his nuts on for the moment, so he has had a reprieve!)

What is the pattern of the spotted called? It doesn't look quite like a blanket to me, is it what they call frosted? Do they have stable names yet?

1500 miles, quite a trip! Where are they from?.............and breathe

They are gorgeous. And why am I crying

Ah, it's because the grullo is just as my Marius would have been as a baby. I have never seen a baby chocolate dun before, ever.

Lots of photos, please, as they grow up, and updates about them all.
How lovely.

Appy is a little bit long in the pastern for my taste......

But that Buckskin....VERY nicely put together.....

I think it's the colour, but given different names in Quarter Horses. Grullo = Chocolate Dun. ***Stands back ready to be corrected***

Thanks everyone.

The Appy is a blanket spot - his pasterns aren't actually so long in real life; he is a particularly leggy horse; not sure on his full grown height but I wouldn't be surprised if he makes around 16hh. The parents are both big horses so daughter has plans to make this one her jumping horse - we'll see how he comes along though.

The grullo is a colt too - yep pretty much the same as chocolate dun

The rest are all fillies; the buckskin and the dark palomino are very very nicely put together and I would prefer to keep these 2 until they are 3 years old as I think they will come together really nicely.

The pale palomino is a younger filly and doesn't quite do it for me, but I bought her with a mind to selling to the person who wants to buy Golden's foal. She's quite a nice little foal and does have good breeding however she isn't quite as beefy as the others just yet. She wasn't my first choice - I went to try for another but the bidding was outrageous and I stopped at 1,000.....crazy

as it's breeding wasn't quite so good, it just happened to be a prettier dark palomino colour.

Trying to feed them up however they have obviously never been fed hard feed as they have no idea what to do with it, so I'll just continue to give them good hay for the time being.

Enfys they came from MB - so a very long way. Amazing that there aren't more dings on them to be honest.

Missy; yes that's the reason I don't like buying coloureds - I far prefer to have a solid horse where inconsistencies are clearly seen. Photos are no good either really; I noticed in one photo that the grullo looks like he has a deformed pastern - I ran straight out there to look at it in real life as I was shocked that I had missed something so in-your-face as that - however I hadn't, just a rotten photo. Phew!

I have to agree with you HP, the buckskin absolutely oozes quality; really nicely put together filly.

Huggy; yep the flies can really get on your nerves once in a while....well not really ours, but certainly feel sorry for the horses at times.

Anyone who wants one shipping - send me the postage and away they can go.
