Do you wear your hacking jacket .......

I still wear beige jodhpurs and brown jodh boots for hacking. Have recently been seriously considering getting a tweed hacking jacket like the one I had in the 70's. I dont compete but do like to look smart. will wear hi viz tabard on top though. ETA I also wear a headscarf a silk one. v warm and windproof does look a bit odd under the jockey skull though.

I suffer from earache and wear a rather smart silk scarf under a hi viz covered hat when it's windy. People snigger.

I used to a lot as a teen in the early 90's - Quite possibly inspired by the PT sisters books! I thought I looked the bees knees lol My Welsh D also had a plaited forelock because I felt it looked smart with my classy ensemble, never mind the fact that the rest of his mane was a couple of feet long!

Joking aside a good hacking jacket is a very practical thing, in the winter I wore a green husky waistcoat underneath it for extra warmth, it got wet when it rained but I cant remember many days when the wet went all the way through to my body

Ahhhh makes me remember the good old days when we cantered on grass verges!

I remember racing the 353 bus along the grass verge on my pony, it would pass us and then have to wait at the next stop to adhere to its timetable. I used to try and get back to the old town before it - loved that NF pony, so game, tough and very fit.

....... And jump the ditches on the grass verges! :o.
I had the string gloves and rubberised Mac. I don't remember having any other coat, other than a hacking jacket and riding Mac, to ride in. :) the Mac was only for downpours because it was so stiff and uncomfortable.
