I have recieved a private message from someone who has checked out my boy's freezemark on Ned, questioning his passport details, age etc. I put his pic on this forum. The person misread the freezemark.

Why would someone do that?

Maybe they have nothing better to do than accuse honest people of lying?
(Or they fancy themselves as a bit of a Miss Marple, and think will single handedly solve equine mysteries and crime using photos on HHO, and accusing bewildered owners of having stolen horses??!) Sad really. Ignore it, they misread the freezemark, wasted their time searching NED and messaging you. More fool them. x

My first reaction was to think that it was a very stalkerish thing to do. Then I thought the same as Laura-C and wondered if they were looking for a stolen or lost horse, who might have looked like yours. It's a new one on me anyway, never heard of this happening to anyone else before.

well they pm'd you as opposed to starting a thread so wouldn't be too worried. Sounds like someone looking for a horse thats all.
