do your horse’s have stockings/presents?

No. They're horses. They don't give a sh*te about Christmas (bit like me, really, ha ha!). They do get the peelings from the carrots, parsnips and sprouts, but that's it and I spread that over a couple of days if I feel it's too much for one sitting!

Anyway, it's November. Shush.
It is all very silly but that is the FUN PART

All of my pets have personalised stockings (yes, I know I’m mad). They don’t come out till mid December but I like to give them an extra treat and get some silly photos to see me through the rest of winter

My girl used to get a swede on a string to play with, but now she’s older I worry a bit about her teeth (she would demolish it in 5 minutes flat)
So mine will get their own bag of carrots to share.

friend at the yard has been a bad influence on me today, and i’ve bought some tinsel to wrap around the beams, plus baubles to hang from it and some lights🤣

they get treats etc year round of course, but in their stocking they have ginger biscuits & rich tea biscuits, a new bag of treats to try each, and usually a “fun” flavour grass block/swinger - i only ever buy the bumper pack of boring ones.

again, they get veg year round but christmas is a fancy affair of multiple at once! diva gets a suede, lily won’t touch them lol. bananas, celery, the things i don’t usually buy for them - a fresh banana is a real treat, it’s usually only brown ones that make it to the yard🤣

How does it work? Does each pet "pick" a name or do you pick a person and get for that persons' pets?

I have 3 ponies, 2 dogs.
my mum has 2 dogs, 2 cats and a parrot.
My sister has a dog and I've no idea how many cats.
My other sister has a dog, a cat and a hamster.
My brother has a dog and 2 cats.
My other brother has no pets.
My niece has 2 cats.

Pet secret santa- great idea and I going set one up for my family.
My horses get a carrot, parsnip and swede each- plus a bag of treats form our YM. Plus extra presents like saddle pads and more head collars that they don't care about and are really for humans

all the names go in a hat, and each family member picks one, you cant pick your own pet, so the names go back in the hat. Makes for some Christmas fun.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure it would catch on in my family as I have 3 dogs, 4 horses, 6 chickens and 1 cockerel by myself, whereas my sister has a dog and BIL has a cat. My parents have no pets at all.

I think everyone's getting a bag of carrots to share this year as they cost me a fortune year round to keep them happy and healthy. They all like carrots.

If the weather’s nice I will be doing a little “Christmas dinner” for them with carrots, apples, home-made white bread, luxury cider (from our orchard, where I’ve been sneakily smuggling them the odd apple from throughout autumn 🤣).
Please don't tell my ponies this or they'll get ideas 😂 sounds lovely though

No, I am a bad person!
I used to buy them something I wanted, Like a new saddle pad and put it wrapped under the tree. Then act all suprised at how lovely it was of Father Christmas to remember fluffy the pony and what he had asked for this year.
