The horse I share comes over to the fence as soon as he see's his tack and whinny's till you get him in. He loves doing lateral work espcially turns on the forehand and leg yields. He enjoys hacking out with company. He is the first horse I've ridden that seems to actively enjoy it.

What are yours like?

I don't thnk my little fat cob likes being ridden very much, shes off at the sight of a headcollar and out on hacks she always makes a beeline for the quickest route home, even if thats not the way we are actually heading.
If she was a person she would stay at home making and eating cakes, she would wear a pinny and ride a bicycle with a basket on the front very slowly.

I think mine does.
She had had several years off having babies and has been back in work since August last year. She is exceptionally willing and always tries to please. She seems to enjoy her hacking both alone and with others. Schooling she possibly would try and get out of...but jumping she LOVES! she is really enjoying getting back into it again. Her ears prick forwards and her face lights up when she sees a fence. So yeah i think she does enjoy herself and she makes riding a pleasure.

I'm sure Red does. He's been out of work for a while now because he's got a problem with his leg, but ever since he's just been so grumpy! and if you walk past with a saddle to tack up another horse, he pricks his ears and looks so excited, bless him.

Yes I'm certain she does! She gets quite grumpy if she isn't doing anything and I think she feels like I'm ignoring her! When I ride her she positively bounces off the yard, ears pricked and smiling as much as a horse can smile. She isn't as enthusiastic where schooling is concerned :p

My two both seem to enjoy being ridden - although they definitely prefer hacking to schooling but I guess that's the same for most horses!

Mine does definately, she is off as soon as you put her tack, "right where are we going today" and she is so brave, nothing scares her so we go miles. My 30 year old also whinnies when he sees his tack but we only potter about these days.

I've owned 2 other ponies in the last 2 years that refused point blank to leave the yard so having a pony that wants to go places is a wonderful feeling.

FB sighs when fetched from the field, sleeps while he is groomed and tacked up and wakes up when he gets in the school. He trudges along away from the yard and races back - especially at dinner time. The only time he is ever totally committed and enjoying himself is when you are in the ring and the bell rings at the start of the round!

Ari is like having a slightly devious but totally idle teenager, who would rather lie on the sofa watching tv and eating pizza, but will, if pushed go out and do some exercise. He likes being out and about and is currently being educated about jumping - although it seems he is working on the principle that if he keeps just crashing through them I might give up and let him go back to wondering when dinner is turning up.

Mine can be seeing saying' O bugger she's got her jods on'. He heads out with the hand break on and gets home at a rate of knots, always knows the half way mark.

lol this is my cob! He goes out very begrudgingly and slowly but practically skips all the way home lol - when i tack him up he goes to sleep and gives me "the look" - youd think i took him down the pits everyday on an 18 hour shift lol

Mare resigns herself to work if she thinks she's going to be schooled. Now.... if there are jumps involved thatsa different matter, or a hack!
Fjord gelding loves his dressage, hates hacks unless he can lead and dictate his own pace.

I THINK Major enjoys his work, in fact today we went on a hack turned round and rode past the entrance to the yard he had a look put powered on past with his little ears pricked :D
