Weird question, but I am just curious as mine have been out 24/7 since April and not one poo in the shelter, even though they spend a lot of time dozing in there or hiding from the sflies. They are both mares, so is this a mare thing? If I can just train them not to do anything in their stables in the winter.... :-D

my mare is so easy to poo pick and muck out she will never do anymore than 2 poos in her shelter and the rest are in the corner of her paddock opposite the shelter and in her stable she will only poo in the corner that i put her hay in so i sweep any hay that is left and her poo, lift her bed to find where her little wee patch is and its done.

Interestingly ours never do. I do wonder if it can be taught by other horses.

We got the NF first, the day before we got his companion, and on day 1 he randomly pooed around the middle of the field. Then his neat and tidy companion arrived. He only poos in certain poo places around the edges of the field, and by day 3 all poos from both ponies were neatly in the poo piles. However he does poo in the stable (he's fed in a stable), always the same spot though!

Mine do but only if they have a bed down in it as it has solid floor so sometimes give a nice straw bed for them to lay down. If no bed they dont, they are really good and poo by the poo pile which makes my job easier. The youngster sometimes even climbs on the pile and poos on it!

Does she give lessons???!

Dizz is the muckiest mare going....:rolleyes:

My mare doesn,t and she seems to have trained the foal to go outside as well, foal does pee on the hay in there though. My mare has a double stable and only poos in the lounge not the bedroom has trained foal as well but if I use the large single stable foal turns everything into a horrid mess.
