I was wondering if your bridles and saddles match in colour or is it "okay" to have a mismatch. I have a gorgeous second hand Prestige saddle in Tobacco but can only find brand new Prestige bridles for sale at great expense.

I already have a dark brown Henri De Rivel Bridle and martingale so would they be acceptable to go with the saddle? I am only going to do low level local shows and sponsored rides etc.

Thank you for not laughing at me, or at least doing it somewhere I cant see :D

Could you not colour match another brand, John whimper, and shires have a tannish colour?

I had a Albion saddle and the only stirrup leathers I could find were shires one and they matched really well.

Could find us a colour photo of the saddle and some of us could take a look for you?

Nope! Got a bates capprilli tan/light brown saddle then money ran out so have a very dark brown £15 bridle!!! Did find a cheapo bridle to match saddle but can't find Cheapo martingale so now do have a match for dressage only :)

Most of the time yes, but I do use my other havana bridle I have with my black dressage saddle. You would only notice this when close up.

When I bought a new saddle for my mare the only one that fitted her well wasn't a standard havana colour. It's quite similar to the one in the picture you posted. I had a look around on the internet and found that Australian Nut leatherwork seemed to match quite well - and managed to find a supplier of bridle parts in Aus Nut (as my mare doesn't take a standard full size bridle). However, they have since gone out of business (Shayler) but luckily I bought 2 bridles at the time so these will last me well.

If you want to do showing, then yes the judge will notice things like bridle and saddle matching. However for anything else I wouldn't really worry too much.

Good luck! :)
