He's growing up to be a lovely dog but I suspect he'd not full whippet, not that we care. His recall is still reliable (for a 6 month old) and he's a friendly, happy chap. He loves a frisbee/ball/tuggy so hopefully he'll make a second flyball dog and maybe try his hand at toss and fetch/disc. I don't do as much training with either of them as I probably should but they both have Freshers and Beginners trick titles. Don't get my wrong, we've had a couple of deaf moments and he can be a pest at time but on the whole he's a good dog.

Annette4 he is absolutely gorgeous, i have one very similar, and hes a Saluki x Whippet x Greyhound, would upload a pic onto here if i knew how haha

Ahhh he's so cute!

I agree with you he doesn't look 100% whippet to me (though I think he's very close so could be a throwback from down the line?), I think it's the ears that make him look 'not quite' to me! He's gorgeous anyway though.

Hes gorgeous! My blac dog is a "working whippet" which is a term used in the North East for anything not quite 100% whippet. His mum was a racing whippet, no idea about dad. Hr doesnt have your boys ears but he does have the same something not quite whippet about the width/shape of his head

Oh dear, I picked the wrong version of this thread to respond to :p

But was worth another look - Dobby is still super cool :D

Just when I thought things were calming down work went mad so not had time to come back on :rolleyes3:

So cute! What makes you think he’s not full whippet? I’m clueless re this breed, so need it pointing out!

It's mostly his ears as they aren't 'normal' whippet ears but also his tail (slightly more feathering/hair than any other whippet I've met and his mannerism.....he has a habit of Saulki style 'singing' when he wants his own way and is told no.

Those ears! Especially in the photo of the photo - just like Dobby's.

OH picked the name before we found him so we're lucky he's got them really :tongue3:

That's what we thought, of course they could have told fibs about dad but I doubt it given the type of people they were. Mum and dad were both lampers and mum is definitely 100% whippet but I suspect dad has something like Saluki further back which isn't uncommon with workers.

You're boy is so handsome!

He is so cute -- I love his knitted hat!

It was in a charity auction and I just couldn't resist :biggrin3:
