hi, i hoped you guys could shead some light on this!
Basically, i brought my mare in from the field (she recently had a nasty trailer accident and is still recovering, so is in her field during the day but in a section on her own, so she cant get injured from others). I went to fetch her in in the evening and she was really lame on her left hind.
She was dragging it accross the floor and really wobbly, when i got her to the yard she was really restless, rocking, breathing heavy and clearly distressed, so i rang the emergency vet who came out and examined her. He said she has damaged her pelvis, but it doesnt look fractured, she just lopsided! Then gave her a painkiller and told me to keep my eye on her.
She seemed ok once she had a painkiller and was in her stable, went back to check her in the night and she was fine, had been laying down and had clearly got back up again.
The next day the she was fine, not lopsided, or lame or uncomfortable, so the vet said put her out for a bit, then if she looks funny again bring her in.
So i left her out and she seems fine! I just cant get my head around it! how can she be lopsided one minute but then fine the next! i just dont get it!
Any one got any ideas or previous experience of similar pelvic injuries!
Thanks XxEmmaxX
