Hate rolled bridles? Or is it just mine?

Got the perfect bridle, fully rolled with a near on 2" crank noseband, looks absolutley stunning and he hates it....

He goes that bad in it i have booked the saddler and back lady, as i really didnt think he would turn into a sh*t just because of a bridle!!

Put hes old bridle on him today and he is back to the lovely Jack! How strange, and bloody annoying!! He is soooo sensitive he just doesnt like it... :(

Its not that strange to me. A rolled bridle spreads the pressure over a tiny area. And a crank noseband is the invention of the devil imo! The thought of 'cranking' something on my horses head makes me cringe. Nosebands shouldnt be done up tight, so the crank bit is superfluous anyway. And if you are doing it up tight then im not surprised the horse hates it, not being able to move his jaw and having the flesh of his cheeks shoved against his teeth- ouch!

Fashion has a lot to answer for!:)

After talking to a couple of people on CR i think i may know why he hates it, the crank wasnt done up tight, i hate tight nosebands too, but it is a crank instead of a normal noseband, which he has never had on before and it must feel different, also on he's old bridle, the poll is very padded, like the elevator bridle, and the rolled bridle obviously hasnt. All of that and including the fact that its new and hard, he hates it.

Hes old bridle is so worn in, hes had it for about 4 years and it must be very comfy for him, so i may well just keep him in that, although if i do get another bridle in the future, (when he's one has fell apart) it will be similar to the elevator again, nice a padded. x

And very true about the pressure in one small area, didnt think of that x

Take your horse shopping with you next time!;)

Hopefully someone elses horse wont mind it so you can sell it
