Does anybody else do this ?

Clean their stirrup irons and stainless steel bits in the dishwasher ?

They come out lovely and clean as new.

I usually rinse the bits by hand after to make sure there's no residue on them but it still saves a lot of time.

Silly, you're supposed to put those in the washing machine! LOL

I put mine in a bowl of hot water and washing up liquid! and scrub them with a brush.
I don't possess a dish washer!

I do my dog bowls in there too, have done for years. The water gets boiling hot, I figure everything gets sterilised by it, so is probably hygienic enough. Not been struck down by any lurgies yet

Llwyncwn, I am NEVER having a cup of hot choccy in a cup from your dishwasher again!!!!! I could get feather mites, hoof rot, strangles, lice, leather mold, ear plaques AND come into season!!!!!

Ok, so one day last week I was sat in the office with a dreadful itch under my bra. Need I say more?

Yes, I'd put the "whites" wash in the machine for the very next wash after the wash with all the numnahs etc (and of course the horses were in full moult).

Remind me to run the machine through on an empty wash first next time I do that!

I would do if I thought I could get away with it...
On reflection though, my stirrups are sprengers so perhaps the heat of the dishwasher would damage the rubbers..
