A horse/pony that they can just not turnout?? In nearly 6 years of owning my pony he has had around 40 field related injuries which are mainly small muscle related injuries. He is one that can be tucking in to the grass one minute and then be bucking and messing around the next! I'm at my wits end now I've wasted so much money on having to cancel entry fees, lessons and having to pay out nearly every month for sports massage.

Please say I'm not the only one!

Is he out 24/7? My friend has a horse like this. She had him stabled from about 4 pm till 10am, so he was full of it when he went out.

Once she turned him out 24/7 he really settled down. She only kept him with one other quiet pony too x

He can't be out 24/7 as no others would be out, not enough grass, doesn't like being out in the dark in winter months and I wouldn't want him out when the weathers bad, he's a sensitive soul lol

When mine are out 24/7 they don't mess about at all unless you put them in a new field. In the winter when they are out for 7 hours they are a nightmare. They mess around playing and suddenly something small will set them off and they will just gallop around and around and around. One time my 3 year old slipped completely over onto her side!
I'm not comfortable keeping them in 24/7 so we leave them out for as long as possible and get them in when they start messing about. Make sure they have enough food at all times and as soon as weather improves and it gets warmer they go back out 24/7.
