Rode tonight all was well was schooling for a bit but he wasnt really listening so i thought I would have a play and put a jump up! He got all excited but was good anyway he spooked to the side and I fell off! Landed on my feet them sort of fell on the floor was all ok though and i got back on and took him over it again, then my friend got on him as i dont really like jumping anyway and he was amazing! Why does this happen tom me! Feel like im not good enough for him and should just give up! Anyone else ever feel like this? and what did you do? sorry for the ramble! x

I think every one has days like this. I try to just leave it, forget it and move on to the next day where things tend to go better.

I would be very happy to be able to have somewhere to put up a jump or the weather to do it outside ATM!! Hey but if I could and it went pear shaped what the hell ! t

OMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY !

I'd be happy to have ridden my horse at all in the last month! Due to my knee not settleing well after my operation in March, I'm riding about once a month for 20 minutes!

If you don't really like jumping, then don't jump. There's no need to put yourself under pressure, riding is about having fun. Plan a long fun hack for the weekend, somewhere you haven't been before, take a map and enjoy!

agree, if you don't like to jump then don't definately, we're all differant and what's one's love is another's hate, there's no shame in it for sure!

I love working them on the ground, turning them into well handled neddies, was very proud of my boy I brought up from a weanling, manners were impeccable, to many that's not much, to me it was because I did that, nobody else, me

and I can't be that crap...cos sorted out two more with dubious ground manners too, I don't do 'let them have their own way' that's for sure

let someone else jump him, and you have the fun on the flat, both win then

Yes... I have those days. And I have a blue toe nail to prove it.

Have a glass of wine or two and think about something other than horses. You'll feel better in the morning.

Its awfull isnt it if someone else rides them then you either feel jelous when the go amazingly for the other person, or they are total idiots and you feel awfull cos they will think the horsy is horrible....honestly horses!

I think everyone has days and periods like that.
I'm sure you are plenty good enough for him but perhaps have an instructor out for a few lessons to boost your confidence in yourself.
