...Just for the shopping?

I've never been to Olympia but this year I happen to be in London while it's on. However it's too late to buy tickets for the Kur (everything is sold out!). Is it actually worth it to go anyway, just to have a look round the stands / do some Christmas shopping etc? Is there enough to see/do (competitions aside) to justify the entry ticket?

Yes as you are around it would definatley be worth it, there are some really good deals there, have you tried ebay for tickets??

Shopping is AMAZING at olympia LOVE it

There won't be anything to watch though so you're paying £9 just for the privilege of shopping - you won't see a horse.

But if it's only £9 and there are lots of bargains, or even simply lots of shopping opportunities, then surely, as the others have said, it would still be worth it...

(Otherwise I'll just have to spend three boring days working in the British Library

I used to work just round the corner and I'd go over and do my Christmas Shopping. Bit irritating being able to hear the commentary and not see anything but you still got an idea of the atmosphere. The shopping was great.

What really wound me up was having to walk past it every day on my way to and from work. You could see into the back doors and watch them all warm up. I was late every morning!

Beats the library any day!

Are you sure there are no 'limited view' tickets still available for the Kur?

Last year my friend went to the Grand Prix dressage evening and enquired at the box office if there were any tickets for the Kur - she rung me and asked if I wanted to go the next day as they had 2 limited view tickets left... They were cheaper than normal, and the best seats I've ever had!! We were above the riders entrance, in the back row but with the aisle infront of us (rather than rows and rows of other peoples heads) so perfect view down to the arena

Might be worth a call to see, or even just pop in and ask when you're there?

Thanks Duckling, I tried to buy a Limited View ticket and their online system allowed me to purchase one but when it came to the next page it said they were sold out too.

But I was going to ask on the day, yes, you never know

If not I will just go for the shopping, I need to buy so many Christmas presents

Aaargh pity I'm flying with stupid Ryanair and only have hand luggage *bangs head against brick wall*

Oh dear, that's going to be very limiting!:) You'll have to add in that extra baggage surcharge to whatever you buy . . .

We're likely just going for the shopping this year, although I object a bit on principle to being charged money to spend my money! There are some great booths and I like the idea of "one stop shopping" for Xmas. Definitely worth asking on the day re tickets - I don't know Olympia's policy but it's not unusual for operations like that to hold a few tickets in reserve and there are bound to be at least a few people who cancel their orders at the last minute. Never hurts to ask.

Last year I bought a pair of half chaps for £5, worn every day and still going strong. Lots of bargains, you must go whatever!
