HI. I'm about to get some internal stables built and am thinking of getting them off Snowball Equestrian? Has anybody had their stables before? They do look as good as most on the market and are a very reasonable price. Any info would be much appreciated.

I would just give you this advice. I'm a livery at a lovely yard and I really like it (the majority of the time lol) but had a real issue with my stable door at one time. Bascially our stables are internal and some of them have the sliding doors instead of the normal opening doors. The sliding doors rely on a door that is hung from a metal framework and is captured at bottom of the door by a small 'lug' which the bottom of the doors runner inserts into. My door kept coming off its bottom runner so would rest like a cat flap, swinging from the top of the frame of the door. It was a contant worry as when the door did this (we were never really sure what pre empted it coming off the runner) the horse could put his foot between the side of the stable and the swinging door, thus tearing his joints apart and breaking a leg should he become stuck.

Eventually after lots of consultations between my Dad and the lovely handy man we have, and lots of sleepless nights for me, Dad managed to remedy the situation. It turned out that the floor wasn't level with the base of the door, ie. the floor dropped away slightly which made the base of the door come loose from its runner. Adjustments were made to the lug by bringing it away from the door in line with the runner and the problem remedied itself.

Just wanted to warn you if you were thinking of having this type of sliding door, make sure the floor is totally level and doesn't slope away even slightly where you propose to fit the internal stables.

For months its been fine, but recently the door has been sticking. I'm dreading the same thing happening again but really don't want to move.
