hi just inquiring does any body know nicola hargreaves from mansfield woodhouse i brought an friesian from her and have been trying to contact her by post email, and phone but can not get hold of her at all,i need to contact her about me horses passport.
any body knows anything could they pm me please.

I would try contacting FHAGBI, they may have information on her. For some reason the name rings some bells for me but i cant think why... Not very helpful, sorry!

contacted the friesian society but she has not put the passport in her name still under old owners name ,she only gave me copy as had her on loan view to buy now she paid and i want the full passport,i know what she was wrong ,but just want her passport.to get a duplicate one off the friesian society its going to cost me £250.
im getting worried she used to keep intouch alot now have not herd off her since feb 2010
anything could of happened to her but carnt contact the family as same happens no reply.

i have contacted the horse on loan people and they are trying to trace her ,ill try the stolen horse register, ive matched the microchip number with the one on the photo copy of the passport, and its the same ,
im very baffled on why no reply unless they gone abroad or something awful has happened.

Sorry to say, although it could be innocent this sounds very dodgy to me.

Can you contact the last named owner from the passport to check whether the person you bought from was the legal owner? If she was the legal owner (so its's all OK) the previous owner may have other contact details for her.

the old owner who the passport is under is in the netherlands the friesian horse society has told me that nicola never changed the passport over.

It's not unusual for passports to be lacking information. According to my ned's passport he was off the radar for two years and ended up in auctions at least twice. When I tracked down the last recorded owner she burst into tears ( not happy memories). I've had him a year and he's never put a foot wrong and he's not stolen. It's nice that you're concerned for this person but she's probably just a dealer and doesn't record her details. So much for passports proving ownership!

Its not that unusal for people to not change over the name of the owner in the pastport. I never had my first horses's pastport changed to my name adn I have since sold her, don't think the current owner has tried to change it either as they have never mentioned the fact its not my name on the pastport, they are not meant to be proof of ownership.

It is a bit concerning that she will not get in contact with you now and if something isn't amiss with your horse something could have happened to her. The problem you may have even if you get a duplicate pastport is changing the pastport to your name, you may have a receipt (I hope) for buying it off this woman but as that isn't who the society think own her you will have to show evidence that the horse was sold to this woman and then you for you to be owner on the pastport, if that makes sense.

beautiful mare btw- I think the circumstances sound a little suspicous but don't get too alarmed (by all means check the stolen/missing reg.. bt keep calm) ften people dont bother to change recors- passports basically only regulate honest people. best of luck tho!

yes i understand all this the friesian society said i could get a duplicate passport which is going to cost loads and also might have to have DNA another expensive job.ive googled the internet on this lady and found her dads firm which he ran from the house and none of the numbers was in use when i rang ,its getting very weird as there is no trace of them.
