Does anybody use a ceramic fibre rug for warmth in stable?

I have been considering purchasing either the HKM Mr Feel Warm fleece or the Back on Track mesh rug for my boy who has arthritis. I figured it could be used for a couple of hours at each end of the day.

I wondered whether the rug could serve a dual purpose used overnight as an additional layer under a stable rug. Has anybody tried this? Was it too much?

I use my back on track mesh rug as a stable sheet / base layer

I use the Back On Track Stable rug. If you haven't used Back On Track products before make sure you introduce them slowly. Was not aware of this and the poor pony could barely walk out of the stables in the morning! Atleast we know they work though, and no damage was caused.
