Does anyone do a search of the forum before (re)asking questions?

Clue is in the title... I know some topics/questions/debates are unique to the poster, but sometimes I wonder if the same thing isn't just being asked or debated over and over again, in a slightly new way.
Discuss. :):)

No I dont usually do a search but have noticed that one person will ask a question then a few posts later someone will ask the same thing in a slightly different way.

yep ... dunno if iv done it before but if i search and dont find my answer then i ask, i think its silly to re-ask something already asked!!!

Yup - I use the search thingy all the time, especially to look for vet stuff.

I don't think many peeps realise it's there, perhaps it would reduce the number of repeat posts ? just a thought, anyway.

Yes but often you will get a whole host of new answers to a question as the number of people on here is enormous and not everyone is on at the same time of day :)

I actually like the fact that you rarely see "do a search" type replies on HHO like you would on some forums.

Some threads which have been done time and time again (eg clipping/rugging/turning out/bringing in/calmers etc:)) I just ignore because I don't want to read about these things. So if repeated questions bother you, don't click:)

I don't think it helps that people don't title their threads very well. I see a lot of threads just titled 'a question' or something equally unhelpful - I tend to ignore threads like this. They're not too bad on forums with the 'hover' function but for some weird reason it hasn't been enabled on here...

The thread that ALWAYS bugs me is "Which bodyprotector?" When i first started on here i would reply but now i dont even read. I try to do a search however some of the threads are similar but not quite what i was after so i may do a new thread then

I've searched before, but it's often quicker to start a new thread if there are lots of old questions/answers as it takes a long time to read through them all.
