No, Puzzle, stand still. Stop swinging your bum away from me. *walks to her bottom, just in time for Puz to swing it away again*.

Mummmmmyyyyy! I want to groom you toooooo! MUMMYYYYYY STOP WALKING TO MY BUM!

Closely followed by the 'i've got an itch' dance:

Puzzle, I'm grooming your legs, stand still.

Mummy, my ear is itchy, look, this ear, this one right here *smacks mummy in face with said ear*

*mummy itches ear and goes back to legs*

Mummmyyyy now my bottom is itchy, look, this bottom here *tramples mummy in attempt to present bottom to her*

Puzzle, no, stand still you naughty mare.

Mummyyyyy BOTTOM ITCHY!

Anyone else....?!
 
mine will trot or walk past you in the field, slam the brakes on and reverse until you are in the right scratching position, i have also seen her maniplate field mates into the correct positon:)
 
Yes my mare likes her under her tail at the top scratched. I see more of her rear than her face!! Its really hard to brush her mane and face as we do this jive kind of dance round the stable whislt I keep threatening to tie her up whilst I groom her :) I have to warn my friend that come to ride as one ran for cover thinking she was going to kick. She will even corner you until you scratch her! The she brings her head in with this funny look on her face and twitches her muzzle. :)

Harvey does exactly this to me! He is not at all intereasted in having his face rubbed, just between his back legs. An uninformed onlooker would think I had a serious problem!
 
Lol your horse sounds funny ;) ... Mine used to do a pee dance!!! He would be tyed outside his stable whilst i mucked out and would stand staring at me, then move his back end around from side to side and kick out his back legs lol then as soon as he got in his stable he went for a pee :rolleyes:
 
I LOVE doing the whole mutual grooming thing with my boy. He's only recently discovered how enjoyable it is! He's an ex-racehorse and before me, I don't think anyone had ever given him a scratch before. Now he beckons me in, and shoves me into position with his nose, so I can start scratching when ever i go into his stable :D

It's not ideal when you are short on time, though :D
 
whisper does this he refuses to stand still and wont let you pick his feet up unless it is in the correct order for hi, he is getting better but he used to pick his foot up hold it there for a bout 10 seconds then while you were still trying to get the mud out go no i want this foot done now put it down and lift the foot in the air for ages till you went and did that foot, it was very amusing. he now does the whole any food in this pocket, searches... no maybe this pocket searches... no maybe the hood searches... no maybe if i chew the hood i might find some food *chews hood* finds no food maybe if i knock her into a wall face on and chew her hair no still no food now lets just stand giving her evils
 
Yep, I have 2 that do that! Generally at the same time! Try being squished between a Fell and a welshie, great fun :D Generally Seren (welshie) licks whatever she can reach, whilst Mels (Fell) does the walking backwards/forwards to position you correctly! Scares hell out of my OH who thinks they will squeal and 'be mean'! :)
 
My boy is a bit like that! He grooms me back, and turns around to watch me. Then he tries to empty my grooming box and throws his rugs on the floor. I also recently talk him to how to 'say please' for a treat by lifting his leg up and also how to bow. Now, I turn round to find him bowing on his own in the hope he will get another treat! :rolleyes: Also, when I brush his legs he picks them up and paws the ground. :p
 
My gelding will not have his front legs brushed under any circumstances. If I so much as put a brush near them he will collapse on the floor - I am not joking. So cleaning his legs involves the attempting to collapse on the floor dance and me dancing to get out of the way. Apparently he has always been like this, even before I got him. The mare likes you to just hold your hand still on her forehead and she moves her head up and down using the hand as a scratching post.
 
Ye our mare does that, you put your hand out flat and slightly curved to her face contours and she moves around your hand! Daft mare....

Glad its not just me that does the dance!
