We were out in the woods today and gradually it started to rain, then it got heavier until it was driving sleet. We trotted, cantered and galloped all throught the woods and over the jumps. Soaked through to the skin. (Yes even knickers were wet) Horses were really up for it and we were wet and warm due to the fast pace. I really enjoyed the ride.

I like it, and let's face it, there's only one speed to go when its cold and wet and that is indeed fast

don't like the whole clothes peeling off situation afterards though, and I do get cold to the bone then take ages to warm up.

Yes, seems to wash the cobwebs away rather than getting them blown away....there seems to be only two choices this time of year

I like it if I'm already out, but not if I haven't tacked up and it starts raining!!!

Definately.

I maybe wouldn't go if it started to rain before I was ready to go, but I don't really mind getting caught in the rain.

Years ago I remember going out on my mare in bright sunshine and then a thunder storm developed while we were out and it was pouring and there was thunder and lightening all around us - we hurried home but both of us were 'high' on the excitement of it!

I agree with Kitsune.....its meant to be fun and riding in the rain isn't!!

I have to say I hacked out today for the first time in 3 weeks due to illness and lost shoes etc...and it was fab, I was the only one to ride as all the others were saying it was too wet well it was them that missed out and my girl really enjoyed it too and went the best she has all year - yayyyyyy!

but i'm a fair weather rider- wouldnt even ride in the indoor school today coz it was wet and cold

I love it but I do have my limits - it bucketed down on a hack the other day, I was soaked to the skin through my waterproofs and shivering despite cantering the whole way home, it was most unpleasant. In slightly less torrential rain, yes its a lot of fun!

Yes, i have bought a drizabone riding mac and I have a full set of clothes in the trailer so I can get changed when i get back to the yard.

I was once riding through a country park at 7am one morning in driving snow. I was on the mobile talking to my husband as he was worried about me. It was brilliant.

Yes!!! schooled and hacked in the pouring rain this afternoon

don't think I've ever been quite so wet, soaked through to undies, when I got home I had to change everything!!! horse was really happy too after initial high jinx, she settled down and thoroughly enjoyed it

Love it any weather!!

Hate riding my motorbike home afterwards with dry motorbike gear on top of wet clothes tho!!!!!!

Brilliant idea MickeyMoo, I'll be taking a change of clothes to store at the yard tomorrow (how come i didn't think of it??!!!!)

Looking forward to hack tomorrow whatever the weather!!!
