At the moment I can't help but think I'm a jinx on horses, especially my poor mare!!
I brought my last horse and almost immediately I started to notice a problem in his gait!! Then someone else noticed it at a show and £5000 later it turned out to be a muscle condition similar to epsm.
Brought my mare and for the first couple of years things were fine, then noticed her backing off jumps so got her back and saddle checked which led to 6 months off work!! Since then I have had the vet out more than I care to mention for various things like bee stings, she put her foot through fencing, lymphangitis twice and numerous other things. She is currently goin through a masssive claim where she has had steroids in her back, MRI scans, corrective shoeing and we are still no closer to solving the problem!!!
Then tonight I get down the yard and she is coughing violently, very heavy breathing and snot dripping out her nose. Called the vet and she said she has had an allergic reaction to something but to what we don't know??
She seemed to be virtually back to normal when I left and was happily munching away but I just feel like a massive jinx!!! Only just finished paying off my last vet bill!!
Feel like my bad luck in life rubs off on her all the time the poor thing.
Sorry just feeling rubbish at the moment and needed to vent
