It is something that my family have been doing since I can remember. I always get something from the animals, and always give something from them. I write the card from them too. My mum also does this. This year she is getting a bracelet from the horse and the cats.
This is apart from the home made carrot cake / chew toys etc that the animal themself gets for Christmas.
My OH thought I was bonkers when we first met, but now thinks it is perfectly normal.
Other people, however, think I'm nuts.
Am I??

The horses are too busy eating all my money, then crapping it out and making me pick it up to buy pressies.

We do all get presents from father Catmas though

Good grief no, perfectly normal, my animals buy gifts for all the family every year, we have been doing since i was small and now my kids love it to think the horse went shopping!

I always give my animals presents, but never receive any back!! Tess (dog) loves un wrapping presents- it's the only time of year she is allowed to rip up paper!

yep always get my animals pressies....spoil time for them too..

I once got a hobby horse from Merlin....(via my mum n dad)...a few yrs ago...lol that was nice...just wish I could find it now....lost in move...doh!

Yes, the horses on the yard "buy" pressies for each other and I also buy pressies for the various family members dogs and cats at Christmas.

Oliver the yard cat does very well at Christmas - tin of tuna, catnip and treats all are among his pressies.

Maybe we are mad, but we are happy so that is all that counts.

I generally use Christmas as an excuse to buy something I've wanted for my horse for some time (usually some sort of rug), then wrapping it up and giving it to him under the pretence of a Christmas pressie.

Somehow I think my OH sees right through this but just keeps quiet!!

Andy is getting presents from me and my parents, and the presents I have got for my family also come from him.
I don't think he will get chance to get to the shops to get me anything though, and he doesn't like shopping online

I also buy for my auntie's dog, and all her presents / cards come from her dog too!

dont receive anything from my pets - they dont do shopping - aprently go-cat and carrots arent legal tender! but always buy them something, and so do my parents - there will definitely be something under the tree for the cat and horse on christmas day!

My horse has bought more presents for other people than me this year!! And hes also getting alot more presents than me as most of my presents are things for him!! Not that hes spoilt or anything . . . (rolls eyes)

Yupp. I always buy the dog and the horse christmas presents, the hamsters this year too

All my cards to everyone come from me, the dog, the horse and now the hamsters.

We all must be bonkers but hey ho, it's christmas

My dogs always have presents

This is the 1st Christmas I have been with my OH, her dogs have never had presents

but I went Christmas shopping yesterday so they have presents this year

My dog got a card in the post from her bestest doggie friend today too

My cats always get pressies. They like it best if it's some sort of feathery thing on a string. We wrap it up with a little bit of feather poking out and they go mad unwrapping it

They also get catnip toys and treats.

I'm a bit skint this year, so the horses are just getting a swede and carrot string hangy thing on xmas morning, and i might make them butties with honey or treacle. There are 5 of them so it's not that cheap

And since they will be out 24/7 over xmas i might make them all a nice warm feed too

spoilt!

Yes of course - my dog and cat will be exchanging gifts with my sister's cat and dogs. My horse has bought her (very grown up) foal a present and will also send over a gift for my sister's horses. I have had to act as go between and pay for these things but the sentiment has been theirs.

Oh and my dog has had an edible christmas card sent to her .... and already eaten it!

Not to mention that I have just cleared with my horse's owner that we are good to go with extra carrots and treacle for christmas day treats!!!

All totally rediculous of course but lots of fun!!
