I seem to being falling off loads at the moment.
Fell off racehorse on beach, it spun but landed holding the reins on my feet :)
Fell off ex-racehorse first, got on it and it bronced across yard, was going straight into the wagon, so bailed off it.
Fell of my own horse when he launched into water jump, got soaked.
Fell off little pony I was backing, it bronced then reared up and my stirrup flew off the saddle. Slid of its bottom while it was rearing landed on my feet.
Fell off today on newly backed 4 year old that was going really well. Spun in one direction several times then swapped direction and I went flying.

That is all the recent falls I can remember. Why do I ride???

Oh yes, every 3 years I fall off twice in the space of a fortnight, once one week and once the next.

This has happened twice now ie., a 6 year cycle.

But luckily I am on year 7 now, so I have 2 years to stay on, then off I go again!:eek:

Edited after a thought.. No, I haven't fell off this year, so I am on year 8 - 1 year left to stay on.. ouch on the way...

I seem to have entered a falling off phase after many years of remaining firmly in the plate! The old appy could do some wicked things, but seemed to make it a point of honour to not loose the rider :D The current appy has no such qualms and twice this year has stopped and dropped her shoulder, once cantering in a group, once jumping. I have decided that I do not like meeting the ground in this manner, it hurts! I am hoping the current phase comes to an end (or indeed has come to an end) :D

I usually start falling off more if i am coming down with a bad cold or ear infection. When i used to ride out i think i fell off 6 times in a week when i had a really bad ear infection!!!

I had a bad Dec/ Jan (possibly snow related!) once flat out into a wall and once over the arena fence, touch wood thats me for this year!

Well I'm certainly hoping my falling off phase has finished. My only other fall in the last 20 years was a gentle slide from our 14.3hh cob when she spooked at some rubbish and tripped down a rut, several years ago. Then this year my 16.3hh bucked me of on 2 hacks in a month, just after the snow. The 2nd time I landed on my head and am still having physio for the resultant trapped nerve.
