...getting chaps to fit?? Just ordered some in large and they are too small!!! I dont understand as I didnt think I had particularly big legs, how on earth do other people manage?!
Oh tell me about it I have a wide calf but also a long leg, for years I couldn't get anything then some manufacturers started making wide leg chaps and boots but seemed to assume that if you have a wide calf then you must be short too!
Finally I have ended up spending a fortune and getting Ariats. I was also lucky to get some that were in a sale I think they are made by Soubirac. They were end of range and suppose being an odd size, wide and long hadn't sold. They are nice as they are made from stretch suede and don't have those 'wiggly' bits at the back which I think make large calves look even bigger, they have a dressage high top which also helps makes legs look longer. I was gutted when the zip broke one day, they did come with pretty flimsy zips, but luckally a local saddler put some new ones in for me.
I would love to have some of those nice long Ariat boots with the laces up the side but although I can get them on I can't get the velcro done up at the top they advertise that they fit most calf sizes but actually only go up to a 15" calf width. Think I will put a post on here to see what boots people have found fit wide calves well!!
