I have decided that Beau must be made of some indestructible material as in the 3 years I have owned him he has never seriously injured himself or been lame despite his shenanigans! Latest is that upon moving to new yard he want loopy in the field and took of part of the side of his hoof (nothing major) and scrapped down his leg - no heat in leg and its not sore when its prodded. And then upon getting his shoes off yesterday farrier enquired if he had been lame at all as he had the remains of an abscess in his front foot (he reckons it drained via the white line). He was never lame and in fact was performing better than ever the past 2/3 months!

He never complains - even when during one lesson his nose band rubbed his chin raw (I have no idea how as it has never happened in the 1 year he has had the bridle) and he just carried on jumping in the rain with no complaints - not even shaking his head!

He seems to be virtually indestructible!

What a hero!!! My first pony was like that, lameness was for whimps in his opinion. My farrier did the same once, but actually squeezed his frog and a massive blob of grey stinking goo came out.... wasnt even a hint of lameness for old ponio though!

yes i do my horse did this

gave birth 4 days letter and has not been lame at all !!

Ive owned her 7 years as well !!

I think my mare might have been - she was never lame [even when I found heat in a leg she was sound] and for a near white flea-bitten grey she stayed remarkably clean [I never had to wash green stains off her!]

Shortly after I sold her she fell somewhere in the yard and took "all the skin" off one of her hips!
