Does anyone else have Thorowgood non-stretch stirrup leathers?

Hi, I have a Thorowgood T4 saddle which I absolutely love; didn't buy new stirrup leathers at the time because I had to spend £50 on a saddlecloth to go with it, but now my leathers have stretched terribly and it's time to replace them. I like the look of the Thorowgood synthetic leathers as they would match, but at £14.50 they seem a bit to cheap - does anyone else have them and like/dislike them?

Or is there anything else you could recommend? I am on a budget of about £30.

Thanks, Tash

The wintec slimline ones are the best in that price range IMHO, they are much more flexible than the TG ones, and aren't as bulky.

I have them (usually get leather but wanted them to match the saddle) and they definitely don't stretch. They're durable and easy to keep clean, the only downside is that I find them a little rigid to put up/down quickly - if your horse is more patient than mine (most are ;)) then it may not be an issue!

I certainly wouldn't describe my horse as patient... although it's good to know that they don't stretch - thanks for replying.

Tbh I like the look of the wintec ones, especially the ones that give a closer contact.

I had a pair of synthetic "leathers" (think they may have been Wintec, not sure).

Never, ever again.

They just didn't last, full stop; and whereas the leather item will give plenty of warning that its not fit for purpose, these just didn't. One minute they were fine, the next they had a really nasty split across them where the buckle fastened.

I'd never use them again. Dangerous things IMO.
